The Reintroduction

It's funny how much I associate the smell of sharpies with the beginnings of a great idea. I still recall the first time we passed them out to a random group of people at a con and built a world with complete strangers. That's when Adept Icarus was born-- even if the LLC was still a few months away.

Fast-forward a bit, and Arium was born, playtested, crowdfunded, and in the hands of thousands of people. Much to my delight, it was nominated for awards with important-sounding titles like 'Product of the Year'. I rejoiced (maybe prematurely), although that wasn't the goal.

Creating unexpected tales is what drives me, and so I worked with incredible creators to make more! How could I resist?

When I started Adept Icarus, I was already a web and software engineer, but I didn't want to get lost in that capability while trying to make tabletop games. I knew I needed to focus on designing the best games possible without any distractions, because let me tell you, I can sure get distracted. Well here we are over 5 years later, and uh... I got good at making games, so it's time to unite the two skillsets.

From now on, every Adept Icarus game will include free online tools to make the experience better.

Now, I'm breaking out the sharpies AND the keyboard to deliver Arium: Evolve! The Arium team is tingling with anticipation for y'all to drop it into your current campaign TODAY, but we'll all have to wait a little bit longer. You can find out more right now on our Kickstarter prelaunch page for the Arium Complete Box Set.

If you're joining us in flying too close to the sun, or just here to see what this is all about, I salute you, the gamer, the collaborator, the worldbuilder. I don't care how you do it or with what tools, just keep building worlds and telling stories!
